Sublime Schubert: Mass in G
Often overlooked, the prolific composer Franz Schubert was a hugely consequential figure in music history. His graceful Mass in G, Intende voci, along with complementary orchestral gems, will be performed by members of the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra in the intimate setting of Tiedtke Concert Hall. In the Insights & Sounds tradition, the musical presentation will be enhanced by Dr. John Sinclair’s commentary on its composition, history, and significance and is sure to convince you that Schubert’s music is indeed sublime.

The Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra will perform a program of commemoration to honor those lost 20 years ago in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Through the power of music, we will pay tribute to the resiliency and ultimate victory of the human spirit.

Spiritual Spaces: Peace and Serenity
Spiritual Spaces: Peace and Serenity features works to soothe the soul and inspire reflection, performed in Knowles Memorial Chapel by the Bach Festival Orchestra and conducted by John V. Sinclair. The program features a variety of works from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras along with contemporary pieces. Among the composers and arrangers featured are John Maclane Schirard, William Grant Still, and Gabriel Fauré.

In addition to establishing the first Bach Society in America, the Moravians are our lineage to baroque and classical era masterpieces. This evening of dramatic vocal literature features the ornamented music of Purcell, the beloved lieder of Mozart and Wolf, Poulenc’s playful melodies, and Granados’ spicy compositions. The recital will culminate with a variety of strong characters from the world of musical theater.
Na Koa Wounded Warrior Regatta Reception
Caitlin Mohr, soprano, and Maikai Nash, piano, will be featured as a guest artists at the Na Koa Wounded Warrior Regatta Reception this summer in Honolulu. Please join her in honoring our wounded veterans, their families, and the families of our fallen veterans.
A portion of your ticket price supports hosting Wounded Warriors, their spouses, and Gold Star family members. Academic Scholarships to Hawaii resident Gold Star Keiki attending college will be presented. Additional donations will be greatly appreciated to support these two efforts.
